{Most nickel alloys are welded by manual soldering (SMAW), gas shielded tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and gas shielded arc welding (GMAW). Nickel alloy weldments have excellent ductility, and their lower thermal expansion characteristics reduce residual stress and bending deformation. Only precipitated hardened grades require heat treatment after welding.
