Uriah Wowhead has just added a “Skills” directory page for Archaeology!

We’re constantly at work to bring you new and better Cataclysm-related tools, and today we’ve released one we think will be pretty helpful – a new Archaeology skill page! On the page, you’ll see a list of each item you can piece together along with spell to create it, which contains the lore behind each item. Included in the page are how many fragments each artifact requires and what kind of keystones you can use to make it.

Hello there!
i would like to highlight something about the skill page you just published(which is actualy realy helpful)
Im not sure that the “required skill” area is precise enough.
I personaly managed to find the item “Queen Azshara-s dressing glown” with a skill of 250 in Archeology,even though it indicates “525 skill required”, the same goes for the “fossilized Hatchling” which i got with 150 skill.

Hiya! If you’re referring to the Wowhead link then yeah it’s not really accurate as far as skill required. The profession is weird like that and those database sites are kinda wrong about it.
Yeah i was refering to that page.
I think we need more data to confirm that some items are only available a certain level of skill reached.
Maybe some “useless” items (pets, mounts..) are available at the beginign and some others(Epic weapons…) need requires a high level of skill.
Maybe it just depends of the level of the character using Archeology.
This is unconfirmed but many folks say that things like lvl 70 epics (through Archaeology) are not available until reaching at least 300, lvl 80 epics won’t popup until 375+ and ilvl 359 lvl 85 items not until 450.
as far as i can tell no level requirements for any item, so long as you have the skill required to find the dig site for whatever faction. my first rare was actually an epic and im positive i got it before 200 skill level, probably more around 150-175 range. between looking at a bunch of different sites onlone, and from personal experience, at least with 70 epic, a skill of 300 is definetly not required. thanks for the site!
