Uriah MMO-Champion has dug up the new values for Common Artifacts (coming in the patch).
This relates to the changes mentioned earlier in PTR patch notes (see below).
[bluepost]The sell value of all common artifacts has been doubled, while a small subset of common artifacts have had their sell value increased far beyond that.[/bluepost]
As mentioned on MMO, you’ll want to keep some of these items in your inventory for the huge increase in gold (sell) value with the coming patch. For these changes, you’ll have to wait for the patch (4.0.6).

Great news – and along with the other changes is yet another step in the right direction. I still think though that there is a larger change needed. Be interesting to see what else they do.
Yup, it’s unfortunate that this was not already considered before the expansion hit 🙁
There was a reason Blizzard did not put the vendor prizes up for archaeology at the start of the expansion, as for when a new expansion hits the economy will be fucked up, changing more and more every day! If Blizzard would’ve added this when everybody was still lvling Archaeology, it wouldn’t have mattered. Everyone would’ve had more money and everything would’ve cost more! So bassicaly it does not matter.
